Thank God the children are back for Kid’s Club! What a summer I have had! I usually like to hang out in the kitchen here at church or downstairs where it’s a bit cooler – especially in the summer. This summer, however, the downstairs has been a mess! Whose idea was it to tear up all that carpet?

Ok, I know it smelled bad, but the tar underneath it stuck to my furry feet! I could hardly scamper away from all the machines and the scrapers you guys were using to dig out the tar. Then Roger started painting the floor. I hope he didn’t notice my paw prints on the floor. I ran through wet paint at one point! I finally went out into the bog to live for a while until Mr. Marc (Justice) started cutting down the cattails! Wow! That man worked hard!  So now things are back to normal and I’m back in my secret nest. The rooms downstairs actually look amazing, and they smell good too. The best part, however, is that the Kid’s Club children are back. They have the best snacks on Wednesday nights and they are messy eaters which is perfect for a little mouse like me! I sure like our church children. I do have some concerns about Calvin, the Church Cat, though….cats and mice usually don’t get along so well.
