Worship
“Sing to the Lord, all the world! Worship the Lord with joy; come before him with happy songs!” (Psalm 100: 1-2)

Worship is at the heart of who we are at The Presbyterian Church of La Porte. We love gathering together to see old friends, make new friends, to sing and to pray.  Most importantly, we gather to be with our creator, our savior Jesus Christ, and to be nurtured by the Holy Spirit who moves among us.

We think worship should be joyful!

We think worship should be about God!

We think worship should strengthen your faith!

Here is what we expect to do in worship:

  • We meet God and we meet each other.
  • We marvel at how wonderful is God.
  • We confess who we are, who we are not, and who we wish we could be.
  • We listen for God speaking to us - in the scripture, music, and in each other.
  • We say thank you and ask for help.
  • We give back.
  • We think about what might be different tomorrow and the next day and how to make new beginnings.
  • We love each other.

We Worship in Two Ways

We offer two worship services with two different styles because people are not all the same.  We approach God with diverse attitudes, connect through various kinds of music, and listen better in certain environments. We believe God made us to be unique and is quite willing to interact with us in all our creativity.  So we offer two worship services:  Cross Connection (Contemporary) Worship and Traditional Worship.  Worship with us to get the full picture, but to get a snapshot of what you can expect click on the links below.
